February is the month of Love. There is no love like the love of a parent for their children. As a mom, I can tell you - there is nothing that I would not do for my son... my love for him is limitless. I pray for him daily. But the other day, God called me out... He called it to my attention that I've failed to pray for my son's environment... his friends, his classmates, his teachers, his coaches, etc. Wow! How shortsighted have I been?

So... this month I am challenging myself to pray for Teens everywhere. I'm praying for everyone that they come in contact with. Will you join me? Will you commit to one month of praying daily for our Teens? Ready? Set? Pray!

Bullying

Lord,
I pray for the teens who are being bullied because of their sexual orientation. There is so much more to this prayer, but Lord, I know that you hear all that is in my heart and this one... it's personal.

Lord, be with all of those who are being bullied and be with those who are bullying in Your name...

Amen.

Feb 6 2012

Dear Lord,
This morning I pray that every teen would have enough to eat. Please provide them with food each day so that they don't have to be hungry.

I pray that each teen would hear "I love you" at least once today.

I pray that You will reveal their purpose to them and give them the courage to pursue that purpose.

I pray that you would give each teen a passion for something so that they know what it is to set a goal and to work to achieve it... not for the grade, or for money but for the pure joy of doing it.

I pray for confidence, self esteem and pride. I pray that each teen will be able to look in the mirror and see the beautiful person that is looking back at them because Lord, we know, You don't make mistakes - there is beauty in each and every person.

Lord, allow each teen to start this week brand new and to be ready, willing and able to follow where You lead them.

In Your name I pray. Amen

Day 2

I am thankful for caring adults that You have placed in our teen's lives. Please Lord, I ask that you reveal that person to each child who needs someone today.

I pray that every teen will have at least one person praise them for a good deed. I pray for the self esteem of our kids... may each one find something to excel in and have someone cheering for them.

I pray for all the parents - that they cherish every second that they get to spend with the children that you have given them. I pray that You impress on their hearts that childhood is fleeting - remind us to turn off the tv, put down the paper and make time to talk to our kids.

I pray for self control for our kids. Lord, impulse control is hard for adults but so much harder for kids... and even harder when it's not being taught. Lord again, place someone in each child's life to teach them.

Lord, you know better than I do what each child needs and I pray that You'll provide for them... whether it's a hug or swift kick in the behind, Lord, You know the needs of all.

Lord, use me to help our teens today in any way that You can.

Amen

1st days Prayer

Dear Lord,
As I send my son off to school this morning, I THANK YOU for being with him (and all kids) today... at the bus stop, on the bus, in the hallways at school, in the classroom. I pray that you keep each every one of them safe until they can make it back home.

I pray that you will whisper in each child's ear today that they are perfect. Tell every girl out there who is questioning if she's too fat, too thin, too tall, too short that You made them perfect. Tell each boy who is questioning if they are too big, too little, too hairy, not hairy enough, too short or too... anything.. that You made them perfectly.

I pray God that every teen will have the opportunity to hear of YOUR LOVE. I pray that You put someone in their lives who will tell them that You love them.

I pray for each teens thoughts. Lord, keep them pure so that they can know the joy of their teen years and dating WITHOUT the extra emotional baggage that comes with sex and/or pregnancy.

Lord, I pray for modesty or both boys and girls. Modesty in the way that they dress and the way that they act.

Lord, today I pray that any teen who is in a situation of addiction - theirs or a loved ones will reach out to someone who can help. May today be the day that they speak up to get the help that they need.

I pray for for every parent. May they remember that these teens are a GIFT from You. May they remember that every moment is a treasure. Remind us all Lord, that childhood is fleeting and that we, as parents need to make every second count.

I pray for every teacher and school administrator. Lord, our views are all the same in what we feel is "okay" or "acceptable" for our kids. Make their decisions good. Please put your hand on their shoulder and give them a nudge in the right direction so that our children are not exposed to damaging experiences.

Lord I pray that you would keep every teen safe from drugs today.

I pray that you give every child a trusted adult to speak with - if not a parent, than a teacher, a neighbor, a pastor, a friend - someone who can help them in time of need.

I pray for each coach who will come in contact with a teenager today. Please give them positive words of encouragement, show them how to teach the kids to compete kindly.

Lord I pray for respect. May each teenager be taught respect and be shown respect from people who matter to them.

Lord I pray for compassionate hearts. Children are born with compassionate spirits, please Lord protect those spirits and show all of us how to protect them as well.

Lord, I pray that you direct every teenagers move today and that you protect them and guide them through the day. Be with every adult that will come into contact with them and help us to guide them down the right path.

In Your Name,

Amen
